A property being used as a "hub for anti-social behaviour" has been closed down for three months.

The closure order means anyone other the landlord entering the property on Sunnyside Avenue, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, will be committing an offence.

The city council said it and Staffordshire Police took action after residents raised concerns about what was happening there.

"Everybody should be able to feel safe in their local area," said councillor Majid Khan.

The council said it was also looking to take stand-alone tenancy enforcement action, to "further eradicate" the negative impact issues at the property had had on the community.

The three month closure order would be "policed rigidly," said Sgt Chris Gifford from Staffordshire Police, who urged others facing issues with anti-social behaviour to report them.

The closure order granted by a court for Sunnyside Avenue, Tunstall, came into force on 27 June.
