Two men have been charged as part of the investigation into the disorder in Stoke-on-Trent at the weekend.

Ten men were arrested when events in Hanley on Saturday turned violent.

Jarrod Hollinshead, aged 26, of no fixed address, has been accused of using threatening or abusive words and or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Lee Bodman, aged 52, from Stoke-on-Trent, was charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker and breaching a criminal behaviour order.

They are both due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 22 August.

Staffordshire Police previously confirmed that those arrested were aged from 15 to 52 and were mostly from the Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire area.

The disorder was one of multiple protests in the UK following the deaths of three girls in Southport last month.
