Teenager wounded in shooting club accident
A 19-year-old woman has been badly injured in a shooting accident at a gun club in Argyll.
An ambulance and air ambulance were sent after she was wounded at Tarbert at about 13:25 on Sunday.
The woman was treated at the scene by a trauma team before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The Scottish Sun, which said the "freak accident" happened during a clay pigeon shooting event.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Inquiries into the incident are ongoing. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.β
Councillor for Kintyre and the Islands ward, Alastair Redman, said "tragically accidents do still happen".
He said: "This comes as a huge shock - our thoughts and prayers are with my constituent that was injured in this tragic accident and her family.
"Accidents like these are rare and firearms operators are very professional and safe in their conduct."
