Rescue teams in distress beacon alert stood down
Rescue teams have been stood down following searches in the sea off Lewis for the source of an activated distress beacon.
The alarm was raised early on Thursday morning.
The coastguard said thorough searches were made but nothing was found.
Stornoway RNLI lifeboat and coastguard aircraft were involved in the search effort north west of the Butt of Lewis.
