Youth crofting interest sees new group created
A new organisation is being set up to represent young crofters in the Western Isles.
More than 200 people turned out for the launch event in Stornoway last week.
The new group is being supported by the Lewis and Harris Sheep Producers Association and the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs.
Event organiser Ally Williamson said there was a growing interest in crofting and demand was certainly there for the new group.
He added: βIn the last few years we have seen more and more young people attending sales, shows and events."
