Man's skull fractured in one-punch attack
A man in his 20s has had his skull fractured and suffered a bleed to the brain after a one-punch attack in Londonderry.
The man was punched once by another man in the Waterloo Place area of the city about 01:45 on Saturday 6 July, the police have said.
In a statement on Wednesday, the police said that the victim suffered injuries which were "much more serious than originally thought" following the assault in the city centre and he remains in hospital at this time.
It is believed that the man who threw the punch was wearing a white top and black bottoms, and made off in the direction of Shipquay Street following the assault.
The police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident or who may have witnessed the assault to come forward.
