A woman has been arrested after a bomb threat was made at a restaurant in a Derbyshire town.

Police were called to The Market Place in Wirksworth after a woman entered a venue and made threats about a device shortly before 15:00 BST on Sunday.

Derbyshire Police said officers established the threat was a hoax after searching a number of streets.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance and for making a bomb hoax.

Detectives said the woman, from the Derby area, remains in police custody while investigations take place.
