A council meeting had to be delayed after reports of threatening behaviour outside a town hall, police said.

Cambridgeshire Police were called to Peterborough Town Hall in Bridge Street just before 16:00 GMT on Monday.

The city council's cabinet meeting was held up after the front entrance of the building had to be closed off.

Police said a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a knife in a public place.

The man has since been released from police custody with a conditional caution, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) said.
