Man stabbed to death and second man found injured

A 23-year-old man has been stabbed to death and a second man found with knife wounds on two east London streets.

Met Police officers attended Rothwell Gardens in Dagenham at about 01:30 BST where they discovered a man with stab injuries.

Shortly after, they discovered another wounded man on nearby Flamstead Road, who subsequently died at the scene.

The force said the first man was treated in hospital and later discharged, before being arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody.

Urgent inquiries are ongoing to inform the 23-year-old man's family of his death.

The police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about what happened to contact them.
