Three arrested and knife recovered after disorder

Police said they have recovered a large knife and arrested three people in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Staffordshire Police said they responded to a report "a group had threatened a man at an address on Romney Avenue, Chesterton" at about 10:00 BST on Saturday.

"Firearms officers attended the scene and recovered a large knife. No-one was injured," a spokesperson said.

They said three males, aged 17, 19 and 43, were arrested and inquiries were continuing.

The spokesperson said they wanted to reassure the community "there is no risk to their safety" and appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
