Girl, 13, charged with violent disorder after riot

A 13-year-old girl has been charged following the riots that broke out this summer after the fatal stabbing of three girls in Southport.

The girl, who cannot be named because of her age, has been charged with violent disorder and theft after disturbances in County Road, Liverpool, on 3 August.

The girl, from Anfield, is set to appear at Liverpool Youth Court on 29 October.

She is the 93rd person charged in Merseyside Police’s investigation into the violence. About 130 people were arrested in the region, among whom 71 people have been sentenced so far to a total of 152 years in jail.
