A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man suffered knife injuries to his chest in an East Sussex town.

Police said officers responded to reports of an incident in Windsor Road, Bexhill, at 15:00 BST on Monday.

A 35-year-old man suffered knife injuries to his chest and was in a serious condition, but has since been discharged from hospital and expected to make a full recovery, Sussex Police said.

A 23-year-old woman from Bexhill has been released while investigations continue, the force added.

Windsor Road was temporarily closed while officers made enquiries at the scene, but has since been reopened.

Sussex Police urged anyone with information to contact them, either online or by phone.
