Emergency services called to Cornish beach
A large emergency service presence was called out to an incident along the Cornish coast on Thursday.
HM Coastguard said it was alerted to "someone in the water" off Porthmeor Beach in St Ives at about 18:30 BST and sent a local rescue team to the scene.
The coastguard said South Western Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall Police crews also attended the incident.
The man was taken to hospital after being recovered from the water, a police spokesperson said.
