Tribute to football fan, 18, killed in crash
The family of an 18-year-old football fan who died after being hit by a car have paid tribute to "an amazing young man".
Sonny Farrier, from Walker, in Newcastle, was struck by a vehicle on Boggle Hole Lane, near Delves Lane, on Saturday, just after 13:00 GMT.
He died at the scene despite medical treatment, Durham Constabulary said.
His family described him as a "much-loved brother, son, and boyfriend".
“Everyone that knew Sonny had nothing but kind words, an amazing young man with such a loveable character," they added.
“Sonny was Newcastle United’s number one fan and travelled wherever to watch them. He lived and breathed football.”
Nobody else is believed to have been injured in the crash.
