Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing Dance: Monki's Uploader picks

In February Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 1 & 1Xtra's Monki took to the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing Uploader to handpick the finest emerging DJ's to support her on tour across the UK. Get to know the four acts she selected and why they're set to make waves in the world of dance and electronica...

Lauren Lo Sung // Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing in Merseyside

"I was really impressed by some of the talent on offer in Liverpool but Lauren's mix really stood out for me - she filled it full of wicked party tracks. Her original productions are what excite me the most though - proper forward-thinking house and tech. Definitely one to watch."

BENJI // Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing in the East Midlands

"Benji really stood out for me among the many applicants we had, there were some really strong ones in there for Nottingham! His mix had a great energy and rhythm, I liked the mix of different styles of house through to some more disco'y bits. His productions were also a great addition to application, we played one on the show and it fitted in nicely."

Understate // Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing in West Yorkshire

"Understate are a duo from Leeds who really caught my attention with their mix. Full of energy, vocal loops and good percussive tunes. I thought out of everyone who applied for the set, they would most suit the line-up above them and make for a good transition as the night went full throttle. The duos production was stripped back, simple but effective and I could see it working well in one of their sets. They look like they have a few festivals lined up and wish them all the best of the luck for the rest of year."

Will Acres // Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing Solent

"What I liked about Will Acres was that his music selection was completely different too the other DJs/ producers that entered. His taste in music seemed a lot more broad, spanning across all genres of 4x4. Everything from classic house, disco to Bicep was in there, so that was nice to hear. His production was really interesting, it didn't sound like a lot of what was getting sent, so many things sound similar and you can tell he's tried to put his own mark on what he's made."

If you're making House, Techno, Disco or anything on the 4/4 spectrum make sure you mark your artist genre as 'Dance & Electronica' in the Uploader and your tracks will make their way to Monki's inbox, as well as your local Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing show.
