Good Morning, Good Morning
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Sgt Pepper album, surprise performances took place across the city in an event inspired by John Lennon’s song about the start of the day.
- Early birds met a host of kazoo-wielding cultural cockerels and bands of musicians playing a special Good Morning fanfare as Liverpudlians made their way to work.
- Along the length of Church Street young artists from LIPA, 20 Stories High and LIMF performed ahead of a grand, feather-filled finale at noon where passers-by joined a Spirit of ’67 ‘love in’.
- Young bands played at the Cavern
- Yoga, Indian music and a 1967 DJ set took place at the Bluecoat
- The story of Tara Browne – who “blew his mind out in a car” – at was told at Tate Café
- Paul McGann read from Herman Melville at The Athenaeum
- Acclaimed baritone Marcus Farnsworth sun morning songs by Schubert, Wolf and others at the Phil’s Music Room
