Rules and Guidelines
As well as the standard Terms of Use, messages posted to our boards are also subject to the following regulations...
House Rules
The House Rules are there to ensure that our community areas are safe and enjoyable places to be. They are used by our moderators to check whether messages are suitable for others to read. They allow us to remove messages which:
- Are likely to cause offence to other people
- May cause legal problems
- Reveal personal details that could endanger personal safety
A link to the complete House Rules is available at the top of each page.
Intellectual Property (or Copyright)
Copyright law exists to stop someone from taking another person's work and passing it off as their own. It applies to the internet in the same way as it does to TV, books and the press. Breaking copyright law can result in being taken to court. For more information, see our guide to copyright.
Defamation (or Slander)
Defamation is a misinformed or unjustified attack on another person's reputation. The law on defamation also applies to message boards and online communities and can result in legal action. For more information, see our guide to defamation.
Editorial Guidelines
It is possible to include links to other websites in your messages. To make sure that these sites are suitable for all, we have set a range of editorial guidelines - links to websites which break these guidelines will be removed.
