YouTube stars Ali A and Mimi Missfit join the line-up of new shows in a multi-genre mini-slate which includes drama, entertainment and factual content commissioned by Cheryl Taylor, Head of Content, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children’s. The shows will be made available as ‘bingeable’ box sets living on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer beyond the traditional 30 days ensuring they are available for the teen audience whenever, wherever and however they choose to consume them.

The A List (13x30') explores universal teen concerns of friendship, romance, loyalty and betrayal in an intense powerful and addictive drama. It is set in what appears to be an idyllic island summer camp, but dark secrets will turn the holiday of lifetime into a twisted nightmare. The A List is produced by Kindle Entertainment. Executive producers are Anne Brogan (Kindle Entertainment) and Amy Buscombe (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ). The A-List will be available on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer this autumn.

Teen Taxi (12x20') will shine a humorous and engaging light on the conversations had between teenagers and their parents as they travel in their family cars. In our hectic world, time spent in the car remains one of the last refuges of unfiltered child-to-parent conversation – a place where laughs can be had and tricky conversations raised, without digital distractions or the possibility of escape!

Teen Taxi is a two series commission and will be shown on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer. It is produced by Dragonfly with Simon Kerfoot as executive producer alongside Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ executive producer Hugh Lawton.

YouTube megastar Ali-A (pictured above) presents I’m Not Driving That (20x22') for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer. Young drivers who have just passed their tests have their cars revamped in a garage fitted with fixed rig cameras as celebrities drop by. This isn’t just a car transformation show - each young driver is put through their paces on a personalised advanced driving course, by a charismatic trio of driving instructors. But what will their friends and families think when their revamped cars are finally revealed? The series is produced by Endemol Shine North. Executive Producers are Kez Margrie for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Coral Lawson for Endemol Shine North.

A documentary mini series featuring young people moving into adulthood has also been commissioned. The series includes:

  • Boys To Men (Big Deal Films) which shines a light on the very real issues facing teenage boys in London as they learn how to navigate through the challenging transition from boyhood to manhood.
  • The Great Eco Build (Nine Lives) follows a group of young people in Wales who have struggled in education, taking on the biggest challenge of their lives so far as they pull together to build an eco-community centre from scratch.
  • Life After Care (Chatterbox) follows two young men starting the next stage in their lives as they leave a lifetime of being in foster care. They face huge challenges as they transition to adulthood with no parents to help them through.

Executive Producer for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is Kez Margrie

A new series of improvised drama, Logan High (30x10') (main image) will also be available on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer. Our beguiling clan of Scottish high-schoolers navigate the highs and lows of relationships, friendship fall outs, family issues, school stress and teen life in general. In addition, True Believers (w/t) (13x28') is a comedy drama about a boy-band who are trying to make it big in the music industry. The series follows their comedic ups and downs as they try to grow their fan base and find the best songs to record.
