We're part of the Inclusive Futures Global Labour Programme, aiming to build skills, and support jobseekers, workers, and employers to achieve a more inclusive workforce in Kenya.
Major multinational corporations rely on Kenya's farmers and small retailers to support their production - yet awareness among workers of their labour rights has been low.
We're working with local media outlets to produce programmes and content focused on the issues facing local workers and farmers - particularly for people with disabilities - to build their understanding of labour rights, and help ensure employers take steps to protect them.
The programme also supports people with disabilities working in small retail businesses, with platforms to discuss issues they face and expert tips to grow their business and secure fairer prices for their produce.
By focusing on those who are most marginalised, the programme aims to create wider benefits for everyone working in the supply and distribution chains in this area.
