According to a statement from one of the organisers, Concrete Recordings, "this year it’s not just the usual Manchester suspects on the bill. A little poetic license means we’ve gracefully extended our boundaries."

That means alongside hometown heroes like Orphan Boy, Fear Of Music, Air Cav and Magic Arm, there’s also due to be turns from Bolton’s Our Fold, Wigan’s The Nuns and Preston’s The Redwings.

And it’s not just the North-West that will be represented. There are places on the bill too for The Lines from Wolverhampton, Brighton’s Smallwhitelight, and London’s Love Minus Zero, a band which features ex-Babyshambles brothers Jamie and Peter, sons of The Only Ones’ Pete Perrett.

Of course, in-between and after the bands, there’ll also be DJ sets, with the disc-spinning this year coming from Blowout, Jay Ellis, Friends of Mine, Akoustik Anarkhy’s Soft Priest, Council Pop and DJ Libril.

Whether or not they can still pass it off as That Manchester is up for debate, but to be honest, with such an eclectic mass of fun on the bill, why would you care? Just remember, The KBC, who headline, are always playing round the city and they aren’t strictly Mancs themselves.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the venue. Once more, the all-dayer will be held at Cheetham Hill’s Irish World Heritage Centre, where last year, the utterly unthinkable happened and the revellers drank the bar dry of Guinness!
