On Wednesday 2 May, the Freeflow team will be bringing together a fine selection of local and national music industry luminaries for a day of panels, discussions and insider tips that will allow new artists and bands the kind of access that you normally have to pay a few hundred pounds for in this city. Freeflow’s co-ordinator Simon Ashby has been working long and hard on the Northern Lights event, so is understandably excited by the line-up that he’s put together.

"With topics like whether good music is enough and what happens when your band attracts the attention of a raft of scouts being discussed by the likes of Universal A&R Gordon Charlton, The Hit Sheet’s Paul Kramer, XFM’s Clint Boon, Guy Garvey and Grant Cain from Columbia Records promotion department, it’s the kind of day that bands can’t really afford to miss. "And it’s not just the panels. There’s the chance to get in there and ask your own questions, plus we’ll have a Demo Boudoir, where you’ll have a five minute shot-in-the-arm of advice on your latest demo." Best of all, it’s not all work, work, work. After a hard day discussing the ins and outs of the music business, there’ll be a free gig for all the delegates to enjoy, with sets from The Deadbeats, Geekgirl and Stephan Evans and The Planets amongst others.
It does sound like too good an opportunity to miss. If you want to find out more and book your free place at Northern Lights, > The Â鶹ԼÅÄ is not responsible for the content of external websites |
