After a cash crisis was averted in late June, the August extravaganza is as jam-packed as ever, with a smorgasbord of bands, DJs, MCs and singers from all styles of music on offer.

The immense Aim tops the bill with a full band set, but he’s only one of 60 bands and 85 DJs that will be playing. Alongside, there’s local and international talent a-plenty.

Local heroes The Longcut, Broke’n’English and Liam Frost sit alongside DJ sets from David Holmes and Richard Hawley; the big fun of Skinnyman, Daywalkers and former Un-Cut star Jenna G sit side-by-side with sets from rising stars Cherry Ghost, The Jakpot and Polytechnic; and there’s even space for a turn from our favourite 12 year olds, Metrodome and Jordan!

What is Dpercussion?

The Longcut

Born out of the ashes of the Manchester bomb in 1996, Dpercussion began as RePercussion, changing the name in 1998 to celebrate Manchester’s contribution to the digital world (hence the D).

The first event saw 15,000 people attend, but by last year, that’d trebled with a staggering 45,000 Mancunians joining in the fun. This year, the organisers are hoping that 50,000 come along!

As with all previous years, Dpercussion is being held in Castlefield, an area that was originally chosen because it reflected the new landscape of Manchester with its revamped canals, walkways and bars.
