Why are you involved with Sounds From The Other City? "We're totally in it for the girls. That's all really. And because of the Stone Roses and The Smiths and Noel Gallagher. Yep, that's it. Oh, and because we thought it was about time SFTOC had a promoter on its bill who would attract people who can spell." Who's the stand-out act on your stage? "They're all amazing. That's old news. Quack Quack, David Broughton, Kong? You'd be potty not to lap that shiznit right up. But probably the ones that people might not have seen before in Manchester, like The Good Anna and Scarecrows." Why is Sounds From The Other City important? "Because it places people like us (Nick and Fliss) next to people like Richard Cheetham. Totally different tastes and motivations. So his crowd get to see what we're up to and vice versa." If you had to choose between the music of Salford and Manchester, which would it be? "Salford, simply because of Mark E Smith." |
