The giant spider in Liverpool

Watch: La Machine in Liverpool

Watch a special half hour programme following the giant mechanical spider that invaded Liverpool's streets for five days this autumn.

For five spectacular days this September Liverpool city centre was taken over by a magical piece of street theatre.

It all started early on the morning of Wednesday, 3 September when commuters arriving at Liverpool's Lime Street Station were confronted by a 50 foot spider attached to the wall of nearby Concourse House.

Over the next five days the giant spider won the heart of Merseysiders as over a hundred thousand people crowded on to the city's streets to see the giant spider christened La Princesse.

Throughout the event Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ cameras followed the spider around the city and in a special programme Gordon Burns and Jayne Barratt look back on an week that will live long in Liverpool's memory.
