Liverpool Girls Games - 10th Sept

Susan Carmichael
Match reports from all the Liverpool girls games played on the 10th September - the first games of the season!

U12(B) v Our Ladys

For many of the Liverpool team it was their first taste of Under 12 football and it was a good performance from all of the girls as they took on their new challenge.
Our Ladys took a 3 – 0 lead by half time , but inspired (still) by the Champions League the B team began a fight back that included goals from Emma Fitzimmons and Ellie Moss. The team were passing well and the defence of Georgia Kearny and Katie Bowers Folan were excellent in their duties. Despite a final scoreÌý of 5 -2 the B team can take a lot from this first game and should look forward to a promising season.

U14(B) v Our Ladys

The U14 B team started the season with a positive performance against Our Ladys. A mix of ‘new’ and ‘old’ 14's blended very well and played some promising football. Jade Thomas was strong in midfield and was rewarded with a goal for her efforts. Shenice Williams showed her experience in helping to set up goals for Hannah Warbrick (2) andÌý good wing play from Louise Fillingham gave her a goal too. Kaley Manning and Olivia PhilbinÌý were the other players to score for the 6 – 0 win.

U14(A) v Mossley Hill (B)

Mossley HillÌýB put up a continued fighting defence which challenged Liverpool to have to play some high quality well worked football in order for them to be broken down.Ìý Chelcce Grimes topped the scoring from midfield with 5 and this was due to good interplay with Jess Moore (2) amongst others.
The second half the team passed a lot better and played crisper patterns and finished well. The final tally of 19 – 0Ìý included goals from Amy Kennedy, Ashleigh Sarjeant, Charlotte Ross (3), Sophia Riccio (2), Alicia Hardacre and Emma Harrison (3). A positive start to the year.
