Horsforth St Margaret’s 2 – 4 Middleton Park FC

Middleton Park were underdogs going into their eighth game of the season, with seven straight defeats in the league scoring only four times and conceding 78 goals.

The weather was going to play apart in the game with high winds and heavy rain, all the boys' games had been called off due to waterlogged pitches, but the girls were determined to play and battle against the weather.

The game kicked off, with a good start from both teams with some fine displays of skills from both sets of girls. Having gone 25 minutes without a goal it was Middleton Park who took the lead with two minutes to go before the half-time whistle.

Middleton Park for the first time this season had scored the first goal, and not only that had not conceded before half-time.

Half-time: 0-1

The second half brought with it a big shock Middleton park scored a second, sending the parents crazy with delight. Horsforth fought back well with a goal themselves to make it 1-2, but on-fire Middleton scored a third, with the final whistle closing Horsforth battled to find an equaliser, but it was Middleton scored again to make it 1-4. In the dying minutes Horsforth scored their second and last goal of the day with the referee blowing his final whistle bring the game to an end. Middleton Park recorded their first win.
