How do I switch BETA mode on or off on connected TVs and games consoles?

To turn BETA on:

Go to Settings
Select Try new features in iPlayer BETA
Select iPlayer BETA
Restart the app (you can choose to do that later, if you'd prefer)
When you're using the BETA version of the app, the iPlayer logo will show the word 'BETA'

To turn BETA off:

Go to Settings
Select Try new features in iPlayer BETA
Select �鶹Լ�� iPlayer
Restart the app

We’re aware that a number of users with Amazon Fire TV Sticks have experienced problems during playback when the audio is out of sync with the video.

If you are experiencing this problem, please make sure that your firmware is up to date. We know that using the TV USB port to power the Fire TV Stick will drop frame rates which can cause audio sync issues so please use the main power supply.

We're aware that some people are experiencing low volume through the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer app on their Xbox consoles.

You may wish to try the following method to return normal volume levels:

Open a music app that can play music in the background
Press the Xbox button on your controller or remote control and select the music app from the pop-up menu (see non-�鶹Լ�� link below), then adjust the volume slider that appears as part of the submenu to 100%
Launch �鶹Լ�� iPlayer and it will play at the correct volume.

Why does 'Watch from the Start' not show the beginning of the programme on my TV?

If the programme has just recently started, you may not see the option to Watch from the Start. This may be because of the scheduled broadcast time. We use the scheduled broadcast time as a reference for when a programme starts. Schedules can and do change, so sometimes it may be slightly off.

Watch from the Start can only rewind up to 2 hours, so if the programme started over 2 hours ago you will not be offered the option to watch from the start. Instead, you will be offered Watch from [two hours ago] - for example, if it’s now 8pm and the programme started at 5pm, you'll be offered Watch from 6pm.

�鶹Լ�� iPlayer will be installed the first time you try to access it. You can access �鶹Լ�� iPlayer on YouView by:

Selecting �鶹Լ�� iPlayer from the 'Players' section in YouView
Watching a �鶹Լ�� programme from the last seven days via the YouView EPG (electronic programme guide)
Watching a �鶹Լ�� programme from the last seven days via the YouView On Demand area

How can I manually update �鶹Լ�� iPlayer on my YouView set-top box?

Your YouView set-top box checks for new versions of �鶹Լ�� iPlayer and updates automatically. However, to force an update, or check you’re running the latest version of �鶹Լ�� iPlayer:

Select the YouView/�鶹Լ�� button on your remote control
Go to Settings and select Device Management
Select Update on-demand players
Hit Check Now to download and install the latest version (if not already installed)

You'll need to open the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer app on your TV or console, then head to the Settings menu and select System Information at the bottom of the menu.

Why can't I watch live TV streams on my TV?

Due to a technical issue we are, unfortunately, unable to offer playback of live streams on some TV devices. The issue was investigated by the �鶹Լ�� and Vestel, who are the manufacturer for these devices, however a resolution couldn’t be found

If your device is affected, you will be unable to watch live streams from the Channels menu, live event streams, or from prompts that appear on the TV broadcast to select to watch from the start.

On-demand content is unaffected.

Devices which have been impacted will include the following configurations:

Vestel TV 2015 MB110
Vestel TV 2015 MB110 FVP
Vestel TV 2015 MB120 FVP
Vestel TV 2015 HIGHEND FVP

To see the System Information for iPlayer on your TV, open iPlayer and head to Settings > Settings & Help > Help > System information.

The models below have been identified as affected, but any device with the above configuration will also be impacted.

This is how we support Chromecast on �鶹Լ�� iPlayer:

�鶹Լ�� iPlayer app for mobiles and tablets: live and on-demand programmes
�鶹Լ�� iPlayer website through the Chrome browser on a laptop, mobile or tablet: on-demand programmes only

Trying to cast a live �鶹Լ�� channel? You can only do this on the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer app on a mobile or tablet. It's not possible to cast live channels from the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer website. The programme will become available to watch on demand shortly after broadcast which you will be able to cast.

Why am I connected to Chromecast but unable to see the cast icon?
Some Windows users may be able to connect to the Chromecast dongle from the Chrome browser but are unable to see the cast icon on the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer website. This may be caused by anti-virus or firewall software interfering with your computer's connected to the dongle. Google provides advice on this issue via their Chomecast Support page.
Why can't I control playback from my computer?
Your connection to control playback will be lost if your computer goes to sleep or if you close, navigate away from, or refresh the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer page in your web browser. However, the programme can still be controlled via the �鶹Լ�� iPlayer app on your mobile or tablet. You'll need to choose a new programme to gain back control on your computer.
Why can't I take control of a programme on my Android device if I started it on my computer?
This is a technical issue we're trying to resolve with Google.

What should I do if my issue isn't listed?

Try restarting the Chromecast dongle by switching it off at the mains or removing the dongle briefly from your TV to see if that helps. But if you need more help, check Chomecast Support for troubleshooting advice. The Chromecast website has further information on the functionality available on your Chromecast device.

Yes. Sometimes in order to get the most out of �鶹Լ�� iPlayer we need you to update the software on your TV or set-top box.

As well as fixing any bugs or minor issues, the latest upgrades to your device can unlock new features such as the ability to restart live TV, provide live UHD video when available, or just improve how �鶹Լ�� iPlayer works. Sometimes we will notify you of key software updates through your TV.

Updating your TV's software should be a simple process but it's best to check your manual or contact your TV's manufacturer for advice.

If your YouView box is not tuned in via its RF (aerial) connection when you turn it on, you may not hear any sound when you play a programme on YouView iPlayer. If you're experiencing this problem, please try the following:

Make sure you have an RF (aerial) connection to the YouView box
Make sure you have tuned the broadcast channels on the box (via YouView settings > TV Signal & Quality > Re-tune Channels)
Reboot the box via the switch on the back, making sure the aerial is still connected
