Time to set the running order

And now, the news

Young people put together their own news bulletins for Radio Humberside, watched presenters in action and got their first taste of life in a news room on Thursday when the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ opened its doors to local schools

Thursday 26th March saw over 500 schools around the country running their own news rooms and working to real deadlines as part of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News School Report.

At the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ centre in Hull, students from two local schools, wrote and recorded news bulletins, showing the rest of Radio Humberside how it's done.

Before they left, the students made a few notes on how the day went:

"If I could do my bulletin again, I would have tried not to make any mistakes and not laugh so much at the beginning"ΜύΜύ

"I have learnt how to be confident and not to be embarrassed when listening or seeing myself"

"I had no dislikes, it was amazing"

"I have really enjoyed the experience of being a pro news reporter.Μύ I especially enjoyed being recorded in a studio opposite Peter Levy!"

"School Report is good because it is good to get involved with the local community.Μύ I loved everything!"

"If I could do my bulletin again, I would try and find statistics to put in my school dinners report."

"I have learnt confidence in front of the cameras."

"I feel really chuffed about how it worked out, but I think it should stay as a small group."

"My favourite bit was being on Look North because it made my family really proud."

"Today I have enjoyed talking on the radio both formally and informally.Μύ I think it has been fantastic learning about technological information and being able to write our own scripts and news reports.Μύ I enjoyed talking to Lara on the radio as well.Μύ I think it is a bit easier to talk casually rather than formally."

"I would have liked to have done some health related stories or perhaps the HPV jab which is relevant to our age group."

"My favourite thing was the interview because I was speaking live.Μύ I was nervous but I liked every second of it."

"School Report is a good thing because it gives children a chance to have a go at being on the radio and seeing what it takes to make a news story."

"I wouldn't change my bulletin because I thought it sounded really good and very professional."
