A Kenyan view of Obama

Pictures of Barack Obama being sworn in as US President were seen by millions of people on every continent. But in Kenya, the homeland of Obama's father, the ceremony had a special significance.

I spoke to 20-year-old Yvonne Getugi, a Kenyan student at Hull University, who said seeing the inauguration ceremony was so overwhelming she was lost for words.

Yvonne, who is studying law, says she hopes Obama's election will inspire Kenyans to embrace democracy in their own country.
