Lizi Ayre, Judie Bateson and Paige Hurley are all members of the Scunthorpe Hospital Players whose origins stretch back to World War II. During air raids members would gather in the basement of Scunthorpe Hospital for rehearsals. The Players have had a long association with the hospital having been involved in a number of fundraising activities.

Amongst the Late Show guests, Judie is the longest serving with the group. Since joining them after moving from her native Kent in the 1970's Judie has appeared in over 50 productions. Although due for retirement in the near future, Judie says she will continue to be a 'Player' for a long time to come.

Lizi, is responsible for the group's publicity and studied Drama, Performing Arts and English Language at John Leggott college. With a very young daughter to look after and a part-time job, she still manages to devote time to the Players and says the last two years with the group have been a wonderful experience. At the age of three Lizi attended dance classes switching her interest later to acting and adores the theatre although her interest in animal welfare is equally important.

Paige is a newcomer to the Players and the forthcoming production of 'Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is Where Your Clothes Are' is her debut with the group. Paige, an ex-student of John Leggott College, has been studying RE, Drama and Performing Arts and is currently preparing for life at Lincoln University.

Having been bitten by the acting bug early on, Paige has recently been on stage in the Canterbury Tales as part of the town's Drama Federation celebration of the 50th year of the Plowright Theatre. Her role in the play means she'll miss Freshers' week at Lincoln but says the forthcoming performances are very important to the group and to her personally.

The main picture is from rehearsals for the forthcoming farce which features Paige (wearing stockings in the picture) playing a woman who's trying to seduce various characters who figure in the play and a man trying to resolve his debt issues. How these are linked will be revealed as the farce unfolds.

Lizi says the script offers quick fire dialogue, to which she hopes audiences will respond warmly. The play at the Council run Plowright Theatre, runs from Tuesday 23rd- 27th September and tickets cost Β£8.
