Based in a small village at the base of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Dr Brian Margarson reaches out to animals in distress across the world. He's an animal psychic communicator, counsellor and healer who is trained in Reiki and Seichem.

In his interview, he explains that having a large number of pets was leading to ever increasing health care costs for them which were becoming unmanageable. In an effort to see if there was something he could do himself, he looked around and discovered Reiki. This is a form of complementary and alternative medicine revolving around the practitioner moving 'energies' around the body to effect a cure.

During his studies, he also discovered a form of distance healing. Overtime, he became more in tune with animals and their feelings. This extended to being able to sense, through holding photographs of animals, what that particular animal might be feeling.

Brian readily admits that he found this ability somewhat unbelievable at first, but after canvassing people through the internet to send him pictures of their pets, he says he was able to confirm with pet owners information that he couldn't possibly have known.

Sometimes he does come into contact with animals directly such as 'Hattie' featured in the main picture. Hattie was able to tell Brian what she was feeling and he communicated this to her owner who was able to seek out treatment from her own vet armed with 'new' information.

It was during his communication with animals he became aware that animals seemed to be sensitive to the environment. In some cases location and positioning seemed to have a direct impact on their feelings and well-being. During his interview he describes the circumstances which drew him to dowsing and geomancy which is connected with 'earth energies'.

Having researched more on the subject, it became clear to him there are certain energies in some locations which can have a detrimental effect on people as well as animals. He says he's not only able to identify problems which might be likened to 'sick building syndrome', but is also able to affect these energies to turn them into something more positive.

Not all of these 'energy blackspots' are manufactured, sometimes the underground minerals within the earth can also be a source of 'dark energy'. He does most of his work 'remotely' and says he can do direct energies to any location on the globe through photographs and maps.

Dr Brian, says he generally keeps a low profile about the work that he does, but does accept donations which he passes to animal charities and other organisations linked to animal welfare. His regular work involves helping people with disabilities within the local community.
