'Carl and Glo' as they are known to their legion of fans have an interesting partnership. Although barely a few years separate them in age, people often think Gloria is Carl's mother. How this relationship came about is one which is shrouded in mystery. Suffice to say fate brought these two together. Thanks to this happy union, thousands of listeners across East Yorkshire, Northern Lincolnshire and across the world via the internet are entertained and informed about the stars of yesterday, today and tomorrow who appear on the programme. Both Carl and Glo have a passion for the theatre. Although Gloria denies wearing American tan tights in a high kicking musical, Carl says his passion for music led him to write Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Carl said: "Beethoven's Fifth is my favourite piece of music and I'm flattered it's performed all over the world." Carl regrets that the royalities cheques from these performances never seem to drop onto his doormat. When not out enjoying the celebrity lifestyle that one of the benefits of working for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ brings them, they are totally focused on their radio show. Gloria says: "Carl and I spend many hours pouring over biographies of the stars whom we interview for the programme. We are often seen in Hull's Central library for long periods of time finding out the most surprising facts about our guests. It's a matter of pride and respect we owe to everyone who comes in to talk to us."

At home, Carl and Glo lead a relaxed lifestyle for the most part. Carl particularly enjoys listening to tapes of the radio show, Round the Horne. Gloria designs her own knitting patterns to sell and give the proceeds to charity. When called on to appear in public together. Carl and Gloria wear the very finest clothes. Carl has a suit woven from the hair alpacas and has often toyed with the idea of owning his own herd. Gloria is proud to say that no animals have ever been harmed when putting together her ensemble for the red carpet. Carl and Glo see themselves as part of the fabric of the culture of Britain and hope that for many years to come, British people will have a special place in their hearts for them.
