Goodrich Castle

  • Goodrich Castle guards a nearby crossing on the River Wye.
  • It was besieged briefly in the Civil War.
  • The castle walls were breached with the help of 'Roaring Meg' a mortar which fired a 200lb projectile. You can see Roaring Meg can now be seen in the Churchill Gardens Museum in Hereford.
