THE HOSPICES

St Richards Hospice is currently trying to raise Β£5.25 million pounds for a brand new unit with beds

They currently occupy a lovely old building in London Road in Worcester which is too small and only suitable for day patients

Kemp Hospice in Kidderminster is about to move to an old hotel which they have purchased and hope to transform into a bedded hospice

They hope to be ready to move to the site before the year is out

Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove has a day hospice in the town but is also about to provide care beds at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in addition to the day care they offer

St Michael's Hospice at Bartestree near Hereford has been established at its present site for coming up to 20 years this September

They have improvement and expansion plans and are also aware that after twenty years, much of their equipment and fabric is beginning to wear out

get in contact

Nathan Turvey left the safety of his studio at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Hereford and Worcester to become a bag-man at a local supermarket.

As part of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Hereford and Worcester Money Marathon Nathan agreed to spend the afternoon bagging up shoppers goods at a supermarket in Bromsgrove.

One small snag was that Nathan was also broadcasting his Drivetime programme at the same time.

This meant he needed one hand to hold a microphone and another to hold a clipboard... all of which made actually packing anything very difficult.

Fortunately he had an army of helpers - well three people - from the Primrose hospice to help deal with the actual business of packing the bags.

He did manage to raise Β£192.37 for the money marathon.

To wax or not to wax

Nathan's decision to do the shopping followed a text vote on his show as to whether he should pack shopping or have his legs waxed to raise money.

The shopping vote was a narrow winner - with cries of "fix" being heard from Nathan's colleagues at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Hereford and Worcester.

Now rumours are circulating that because he didn't do much actual packing Nathan may agree to be waxed live on air if enough people pledge money for the appeal.

If you want to pledge money you can do so on Nathan's special message board.
