Bulb is a generic term for a range of different types of underground storage organs that include true bulbs, corms, and rhizomes. They come up, do their thing and die back but remember, don't chop off the leaves!

 Description:

 Description:
The harbingers of spring. Snowdrops have graceful hanging flowers that appear on a slender stem. The three large outer petals and three smaller inner ones form an upside down cup that is marked with green.

 Description:
Grown for their cheery looking, wineglass-shaped flowers. Crocus look fantastic grown in beds, lawns, or containers. The spice saffron comes from an autumn flowering crocus. Most prefer a sunny spot.

 Description:
There are many different dahlias, but all have showy flowers. Often large flowers born on top of upright stems. Best in a sunny spot, dahlias need supporting, and the tubers must be dug up before the frost and stored indoors over winter.

 Description:
Irises are easy to grow in sunny well-drained soil. They have arching lance-shaped leaves, with flowers appearing on long, branching stems. Prefer slightly alkaline soil, but will grow in acidic conditions.
