The Month Ahead

What's opening in cinemas on 7th November...

THE BIG RELEASE
The Matrix Revolutions
Advance word: OK, where were we? Neo and the gang are stuck in some miserable-looking wasteland, sans transport, with the machines in hot pursuit. Look out for more of the same third time round - more chases, more fights to the death, more psychobabble masquerading as intelligent thought. Despite the lukewarm critical response, Reloaded still took over Β£32 million here and - heck - the middle section is always the plodding one in any trilogy, right? Apart from The Empire Strikes Back, of course.

Keanu Reeves and Hugo Weaving come to blows (again) in The Matrix Revolutions

ALSO OUT
Seabiscuit stretches its legs and goes nationwide this week. The other releases are all low-key: the Christina Ricci/John Simm Brit-com Miranda finally sees the light of day, as does the Sarah Polley drama My Life Without Me (a real chuckle-fest this one, about a young mom contracting a terminal disease). Finally, there's a re-release for Lewis Milestone's classic 1930 anti-war pic, All Quiet On The Western Front.
