Writing and directing partners Scott McGehee and David Siegel made their first feature film with the cool and clinical thriller Suture in 1993. But it was 40s melodrama remake The Deep End that brought the pair - and its star Tilda Swinton - to the attention of Hollywood. Now they're tackling another literary adaptation with Bee Season, a family drama staring Richard Gere as a philosophy professor who becomes obsessed with the spiritual side of his daughter's spelling bee sucess while his wife (Juliette Binoche) succumbs to a nervous breakdown.
