Them! DVD (1954)

Busy little ants are turned into "Them!" (as in giant ants of course) by a radiation leak in this 50s B-movie favourite. More fun could have been had in bringing this movie to DVD, but the tongue-in-cheek menu designs and quality presentation of the film do please.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Picture You might expect the print for this old creature feature to look as if it had been crawled over by giant ants, but in fact it's in great shape. The black and white contrast is excellent and the transfer sharp. How come far newer films can't look more like this?

Sound The 1.0 mono track handles the sounds of unrelenting terror with ease.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Behind the Scenes Here's a chance to see test and outtake footage of ant wrangling and dodgy special effects. Watch as giant bugs don't really do much, malfunction, and mildly pulsate.

Additional Extra Features Also on the disc is a trailer, and a great image gallery with a good selection of behind-the-scenes snaps, and production stills.
