Μύ Marilyn Monroe adds short-sightedness to her otherwise typical blonde character, and ends up bumping into both objects and males. Sadly, this random approach doesn't yield the best results so she teams up with Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall so they can net some prize catches in this often amusing comedy, now beautifully restored for DVD.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture There's the odd grainy moment to be found in this transfer, but the picture quality is otherwise excellent, with the sweep of the Cinemascope technique well showcased in 2.55:1.
Sound The opening eight-minute orchestra sequence is frankly quite bizarre when viewed today. While it's tedious and will have most reaching for the skip button, it does allow a good demonstration of the 4.0 sound mix which is detailed and precise in instrument placement, with sturdy tones that you might not have expected from a film of this age.

Extra Features Included on the disc are three trailers and a Movietone News short. The US trailer is a stunningly dull four-minute promise of the wonders you'll witness with this Cinemascope comedy, with the German and Italian trailers actually clearer in not only showcasing the format, but the film itself.
Also on the DVD is a restoration comparison which shows you the incredible difference between the brutally awful old video master and the new restoration job, that was only made possible on the discovery of original Interpositive elements deep in the 20th Century Fox vaults.
