"Scary Movie 2"

Interviewed by Jason Korsner

What's it like to write a film like this?

The way we work is we sit down and watch a hundred movies of all types. We then set ourselves assignments to do, go away and do our homework. When we come back together, we discuss the ideas and Keenan, being the oldest brother - and the director - gets to pick the funniest ones. Some of the other actors also get a chance to throw in their own ideas too.

Are you ever worried about offending people with some of the humour you use in the film?

We'll go to the wall to get a laugh. I don't think you can go too far. That said, our mother walked out of this movie.

Most of the films you parody in "Scary Movie 2" are American blockbusters, like "Hollow Man", and "Hannibal". It comes as a bit of a surprise to see that you've also parodied a British show, "".

Yeh. That's for the British audience! Anne Robinson is frightening. She's crazy, but she's funny too.

You must have been excited to get James Woods in the film.

Actually, he wasn't our first choice. We originally wanted Marlon Brando, but he wasn't too well. We didn't want to force him to do it. We didn't want to kill the Godfather.

"Scary Movie 2" is released in UK cinemas on 7th September 2001.
