Μύ The last time most of you will have encountered "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" will have been courtesy of an old pan and scan video release. So get ready to have your neon leg-warmers blown off by this Region 1 DVD.
The picture quality is variable with some shots looking a little grainy. But the colours are rich and the lurid Day-Glo 80s fashions don't end up blurring on screen.
What will surprise you is the fabulous 5.1 sound mix. A variety of highly cheesy pop tunes dominate this movie, and courtesy of the DVD you'll find your living room turned into a personal roller disco. Good use is made of the sub woofer channel with plenty of bass underpinning the memorably bad melodies.
The only extra on this disc is the original trailer, but some funky animated menus and the 5.1 mix are proof alone of a superior release for this amusing little film.
