Permanent Midnight DVD (1998)

While "Permanent Midnight" is flawed in plot, it is still a nicely shot film. It certainly looks and sounds good on a DVD that offers insight into what director David Veloz was trying to achieve.

Veloz gives a commentary on the disc that is often consumed with his congratulating everyone involved. He's clearly happy with the film and explains how he turned a real life story into a fictionalised film.

The DVD also offers 'soundbites' from various cast members, with Elizabeth Hurley providing the most insightful comments.

As for the film itself it has a warm picture that has been well mastered for DVD. The 5.1 sound mix complements the film well with many subtle effects and good placing of the music around the speakers. Also on the disc are some interesting deleted scenes, trailers, and some rather dull 'unused B-roll' footage.
