Satan Returns DVD (2000)

Hong Kong femme fatale Chingamy Yau stars as a cop who's stalked by a madman believing that she's the devil's daughter. Out to save her is fellow cop Donnie Yen whose flips and kicks contribute to this enjoyable DVD release.

As with so many Hong Kong flicks the print quality leaves a lot to be desired and this no doubt contributes to the slightly soft and occasionally grainy picture quality. But with incidents like a guy getting nailed to a flaming cross and kicked-off a tall building, you're unlikely to be picking faults with the image.

Sound quality is firmly fixed to the centre channel. It's a little warm and fuzzy, like the picture, but as it's in Cantonese this isn't a problem for most.

Yau fans will be pleased with the production stills and MIA have also thrown in the trailer and a scaled-down copy of the rather sketchy poster that accompanies the film. Not by any means a great DVD but the film is fun and it's an improvement over any VHS copy.
