Μύ "Romper Stomper" is a gritty and unflinching look at racism set in Australia. Banned from cinema exhibition in Glasgow, this overrated but undeniably powerful film transfers well to DVD.
Ron Hagen's cinematography uses extensive blue filtering that looks a treat on disc. Otherwise the picture is clear and detailed although prone to a little grain but this may have more to do with the film-making than the actual transfer. The one disappointment is the lack of a widescreen viewing option.
The sound is normal surround although it has a deceptive 5.1 quality to it with the rear speakers full of ominous chaos as in chapter seven. The music score separates well and carries a real menacing power as in the terrifying opening scenes.
Included on the disc are the original trailer and a photo gallery. The menu system is simple and works well although the scene selection is minuscule.
