Change of soloist and piece
Due to illness, Christianne Stotijn will no longer be performing. Replacing her is Jennifer Johnston.
In a change to the original programme, the Zemlinsky Six Songs op.13 is replaced by Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder. The rest of the programme is unchanged.
The orchestra to perform a selection of music from the first part of the 20th century.
The programme opens with Richard Strauss's Intermezzo: Four symphonic interludes from an opera where he bravely based the main characters on himself and his wife, Pauline.
Concluding the programme is Kurt Weill's Symphony No.2.
