A titan of rap, Reading + Leeds is honoured to welcome the one and only Marshall Bruce Mathers III back to headline after a memorable duet with Marilyn Manson in 2001. Titled the King of Hip Hop by Rolling Stone, he’s sold 100 million albums worldwide and seen success on his own, as part of D12 and in collaborations with Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and long-time mentor and producer Dr Dre.

With 13 Grammy’s under his belt, the alter-ego loving Detroiter has turned his talents to producing and acting as well as performing the slick, intensely passionate rhymes he is known for. Creating humour in tales of poverty, drugs and heartbreak coupled with violent lyrics and unashamed barbs at celebrities add up to a controversial rapper who cannot be equalled, in both talent and impact on today's music scene.

A new album is due to drop in 2013, hoping to follow the praise that diamond-certified albums The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002) gained. Eminem has been supported by Radio 1 from the start, with Tim Westwood live from his 2010 Anger Management tour plus exclusive performances for Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe. Prepare for sparks to fly and history to be made as Shady takes to the Reading + Leeds Main stage.
