Concert Information

Experience two choral masterpieces in the magnificent setting of London’s oldest church. Victoria’s Requiem, awash with mystical tensions and expressive power, is rightly known as one of the greatest examples of Renaissance polyphony. Parry’s love of English Renaissance madrigals, and his devastation at the tragedy of the First World War are both unmistakable in his beautifully reflective Songs of Farewell, which were written 100 years ago.

Unreserved seating. Please note that St Bartholomew the Great is an historic building with limited toilet facilities. Toilets in the church are accessible to audience members able to walk a few steps. Wheelchair accessible toilet facilities are available in the Butcher’s Hook and Cleaver public house close to the West Smithfield entrance to the church. Step-free access to the Church is along the path from the West Smithfield square underneath the Elizabethan Gatehouse.
