Announcement

Due to the adverse weather conditions, which have led to a loss of rehearsal time and to our soloists the Jussen Brothers being unable to travel to the UK from a concert in Vienna, the programme will now be as follows: Dvořák The Noonday Witch Bartók Concerto for Orchestra The concert will last for approximately 50 minutes.

About This Event

Live from Watford Colosseum, the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Concert Orchestra conducted by Jaime Martin, perform a unique selection of music for Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3’s Afternoon Concert.

The afternoon opens with Dvořák’s tone poem The Noon Witch, which surrounds itself in Slavik mythology and intertwines in a six month long focus on symphonic poems. Pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen perform a duet for solo piano in Fazil Say’s Night before giving the UK Premiere of Together Remember to Dance, a concerto for two pianos, written by the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Concert Orchestra’s Composer in Residence Dobrinka Tabakova.

The second half of the concert allows the orchestra to shine in Bartók’s sparkling Concerto for Orchestra.
