Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 Breakfast Carol Competition Concert
Join the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers and the shortlisted finalists of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 Breakfast Carol Competition for a concert with a festive feel in St Paul's Knightsbridge.
To celebrate Christmas 2014, Radio 3 Breakfast asked acclaimed author Susan Hill to write a Christmas poem, Can it be true?, for listeners to set to music.
Six finalists will be shortlisted by a panel including the Master of the Queen's Music and Associate Composer with the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers, Judith Weir and the Chief Conductor of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers, David Hill and will compete for their carol to be an important part of Radio 3's Christmas celebrations.
In this concert, hear the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Singers premiere these six brand new carols, which will be performed live alongside Tallis' extraordinary seven-voice mass Missa puer natus est and the popular carol sequence for chorus and organ, Ave Rex by Mathias.

The shortlisted carols will be performed live on Radio 3’s Breakfast show on 16th December between 0800 and 0900. Radio 3 listeners will then be asked to vote on their favourite carol.
The carol receiving the largest number of votes will be performed again live on Radio 3’s Breakfast programme on 23rd December and played on Christmas day on Radio 3.
