We had a sneak peek of what to expect from Lykke Li when she played the inaugural Â鶹ԼÅÄ 6 Music Festival at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse. It was a typically stylish, assured and artistic performance from the Swedish popstar who has been well supported by the station since the release of her captivating debut, Youth Novels in 2008.
In May, Li released her third studio album, I Never Learn, which she co-produced with long-term collaborater Bjorn Yttling, from Peter, Bjorn and John fame. The album, written in Los Angeles, draws on a painful break-up producing romantic tracks laced with melancholy and edged with optimism. Alongside promoting I Never Learn, Li is also pursuing ventures in modelling and acting - she’s rumoured to be starring in an upcoming Terence Malik release.
